The Country’s Challenges
We have been working in Burkina Faso for over 30 years and are currently running several projects to improve maternal and child health and primary education.
Burkina Faso is one of the world’s most disadvantaged countries: 44% of the population lives below the poverty line, with an income of less than US$1.90 per day.
The neonatal mortality rate is high at 27 deaths per 100 live births, one of the worst in sub-Saharan Africa.
Since 2016, the country has also been facing recurrent attacks by armed groups across almost the entire territory, with serious consequences for children’s schooling and access to healthcare.

Our Impact
- 9,040 pupils have access to 34 bilingual primary schools supported by Enfants du Monde
- More than 80,000 displaced and vulnerable children are enrolled in a safe and protective learning environment
- More than 6,500 children and adolescents were enrolled in 100 non-formal schools between 2013 and 2016
- 98,903 pregnant women received a card to prepare for childbirth and emergencies in 2022

My Donation Can Make a Real Difference
I could provide a brochure on birth preparation and emergency warning signs to 250 pregnant women and young mothers in Burkina Faso
I could offer the “My Baby and Me” app to 250 women in Burkina Faso—helping them monitor their pregnancy and recognise danger signs for themselves and their babies.
I could provide bilingual schoolbooks in French and Mooré to 20 children in Burkina Faso to support their learning.
