Ajustement of the programs to match with the context of the health crisis
Following the COVID-19 epidemic in March 2020 and in collaboration with local partners and the Ministries of Health, all the Enfants du Monde teams were mobilized to adapt the association’s programs, to protect our beneficiaries and staff, support health systems and reorient activities according to the evolution of the situation in our countries of intervention.
What was the impact on our countries of intervention?
Health services in the countries where Enfants du Monde operates (such as Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Niger, El Salvador, etc.) were brittle, poorly funded, poorly organized, and not well equipped to provide adequate care for severe cases of COVID-19 and patients requiring intensive care. Therefore, our Swiss NGO, through its local partners, has come to the aid of the governments of its countries of intervention, in particular with the implementation of infection prevention and control measures in health structures; developing effective communication at the community level; training of nursing staff; and strengthening coordination between different actors to stem the spread of COVID-19.
