On November 20, on the occasion of International Children’s Rights Day, the new Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child will be presented. This is a significant milestone for children’s rights, and we are proud to have contributed to this initiative under the leadership of Professor Philip Jaffé from the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child, alongside Terre des Hommes Suisse, Save the Children, and the City of Geneva!

A century after the 1924 Declaration drafted by Eglantyne Jebb following the horrors committed during war, the world is once again coming together to affirm that every child has the right to be protected, cared for, and educated. This new initiative seeks to reaffirm that children have fundamental rights that, unfortunately, are not always respected.
In a world where a child still dies every five minutes because of violence, where millions of children continue to suffer in conflict zones, and where the climate crisis directly threatens the future of young generations, it is more crucial than ever to renew our commitment to children’s rights.
For a Future Where Every Child Can Thrive Safely
This new declaration is a global call to remind governments, institutions, and individuals of the urgent need to ensure that every child has a safe and healthy environment where they can grow and thrive securely.
Many prominent figures, as well as representatives of organizations and institutions, have already joined the movement and are lending their support to the new Declaration.
Your support matters!
Starting today, you too can sign the Declaration! Everyone can contribute to this movement for a world where children’s rights are not just a promise but a reality for every young person, wherever they may live.
Together, let’s reaffirm our values and solidarity with children around the world, ensuring that respecting their rights becomes a priority for all.
