Training in Education Sciences
This project is now complete.
In partnership with one of Benin’s largest universities, located near Cotonou, the University of Abomey-Calavi, our association has set up a Master’s degree in Education Sciences, entitled ‘Master’s in Bi/Multilingualism and Interculturality’, with the first students graduating in May 2019.
This regional Master’s programme brought together 31 students from Benin, Burkina Faso, Niger and Chad. Its objective is to improve the quality of education by training high-level human resources, teacher trainers and executives from the Ministries of Education who, in different countries, participate in the pedagogical design of educational programmes and their implementation.
Master’s Degree in Bilingualism, Multilingualism and Interculturality
This Master’s programme was created in response to recurring challenges. Local languages are not used enough in education, and subjects such as mathematics, social sciences and life sciences are often disconnected from context and have no direct link to the lives and environments of children and young people.
The Master’s programme therefore aims to develop the skills of those involved in education, taking into account advances in educational science and encouraging them to reflect on and take concrete action to improve the quality of education by adapting it to the linguistic, cultural and socio-economic context.
The training is delivered jointly by professors from the University of Abomey-Calavi and Enfants du Monde staff, as well as external speakers.
‘This training will have a positive impact on my work. I will be able to develop new materials to better train teachers and thus improve the quality of education in my country.’ Idrissa Compaore, teacher trainer at the Ministry of Education in Burkina Faso.

My Donation Can Make a Real Difference
I could provide bilingual school manuals in French and Mooré to 10 children in Burkina Faso—helping them succeed in school.
I could support 700 pregnant women and their partners in Bangladesh to attend maternal health education sessions and prepare for childbirth.
I could fund continuing bilingual education training for 17 teachers in Guatemala to improve lesson quality.
