Annual Report 2024: training, raising awareness, and mobilising for a fairer future

Our 2024 annual report is a testimony to the intense actions we undertook in our countries of intervention to improve access to health care and the quality of education. Despite a difficult international context of decreasing budgets allocated to international cooperation we pursue our commitment towards the most vulnerable children, youth and women in Africa, Asia and Latin America

Training health care and education professionals and transforming practices

In 2024, we trained over 16,000 health care and education professionals, allowing methods to evolve and sustainably reinforcing public systems.

In Burkina Faso for example, we trained teachers in our active and bilingual teaching methods, contributing to a strong increase in the passing rate for the primary education certificate, now at 82 % compared to 52% 4 years ago.

In Madagascar, we trained health care professionals to offer the country’s first public courses in childbirth preparation, offering better support for pregnant women.

Raising awareness to protect

In Guatemala, over 8,000 students and 5,700 parents have been sensitised in violence prevention in school environments, and 39 comities for child protection have been put in place.

In Tanzania, adolescents that we trained sensitise their peers themselves in themes such as sexual violence prevention, contraception or puberty, contributing to the evolution of attitudes and the prevention of sexual transmitted illnesses and unplanned pregnancies.

Mobilising communities for durable change

We favour local population initiative. In Burkina Faso, local communities improve access to health care by building waiting facilities near health centres for expectant women living in rural areas, and by renovating roads so that they can give birth in safer conditions.

In Chad, we trained students’ parents in the running of schools, allowing them to actively participate in the improvement of school environments. This collective implication of locals guarantees their acceptance of changes.

Thanking our partners and all those who support us!

The results presented in this report are the fruit of collective engagement. We are profoundly grateful to the institutions and individuals who fund us, amongst which; la Direction du Développement et de la Coopération Suisse, la Chaîne du Bonheur, the European Union and numerous foundations as well as our local partners and private donors. Your trust allows us to pursue our mission through training, awareness-raising and mobilisation so that every child and every  woman can continue to learn, to heal themselves and to build a dignified and fairer future.
