Jean-François Cuénod elected President of Enfants du Monde

At the General Assembly held on 29 September 2026, Jean-François Cuénod was elected President of Enfants du Monde’s Committee.

His election marks a new chapter for Enfants du Monde, amid significant changes in the international cooperation sector and a commitment to strengthening the organisation’s governance and development.

Extensive experience in international cooperation and change management

Already serving on Enfants du Monde’s Committee, where he shared the vice-presidency with Rosemarie Lausselet, Jean-François Cuénod has a thorough understanding of the challenges facing the organisation.

During his career at the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), he gained extensive experience in institutional management and in supporting organisational transformation and adaptation to change. He is also actively involved in the Geneva Federation for Cooperation.

Strengthening the organisation and preparing for the future

For his term in office, Jean-François Cuénod emphasises the importance of continuing to adapt Enfants du Monde to a rapidly changing funding environment.

“Among the priorities identified, I aim to broaden our membership base, develop new institutional alliances and strengthen the association’s capacity to better communicate the results and impact of our programmes to partners and donors,” he explains.

His presidency thus reflects a commitment to continuity, stability and consolidation, enabling Enfants du Monde to sustain its mission to improve education and health for children and communities.

Enfants du Monde also extends its warm thanks to Robert Thomson, outgoing President, for his commitment and support throughout his term. Robert guided Enfants du Monde through particularly demanding years, marked by profound changes in the international cooperation sector and significant developments within our organisation. We are grateful to him for dedicating his time, experience and commitment to Enfants du Monde during this pivotal period, and wish him all the best for the future.
