Nearly one million children are out of school, including one in three boys and one in two girls. Only 32% of adults (22% of women and 43% of men) are literate, which limits their opportunities to improve their living conditions.<\/p>\n<p>It is in this context that Enfants du Monde, with funding from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.afd.fr\/fr\"><b><u>French Development Agency<\/u><\/b><\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/european-union.europa.eu\/index_fr\"><b><u>European Union<\/u><\/b><\/a>, is implementing a new project to Improve Learning for Youth Empowerment (ALAPAJ) in four provinces: Mandoul, Wadi Fira, Logone Oriental and Ouadda\u00ef, in the east and south of the country.
