The mission of Enfants du Monde is to help and protect disadvantaged children in poor countries by offering them\u202fa <a href=\"https:\/\/edm.ch\/en\/our-approach-to-education\/\">quality education<\/a>\u202fand\u202faccess to <a href=\"https:\/\/edm.ch\/en\/our-actions-for-health\/\"> health services<\/a>.\u202fThe aim is to help local populations improve their living conditions and become more independent.<\/p>\n<p>Enfants du Monde manages currently 15 projects in the priority fields of education, training and health in 10 countries (Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Colombie, Guatemala, Madagascar, Nepal, Niger, Switzerland, Tansania, Chad).<\/p>\n                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                                    <div class=\"accordionBlock\">\n                    <div class=\"accordionHead\">How is Enfants du Monde different from other associations ?<\/div>\n                        <div class=\"accordionContent\">\n                            <ul>\n<li>In its education projects, Enfants du Monde places emphasis on the quality of the teaching not just on the number of schools and children taught.<\/li>\n<li>In its <a href=\"https:\/\/edm.ch\/en\/our-actions-for-health\/\">health projects<\/a>, Enfants du Monde\u202fworks in close collaboration with local populations and authorities, with the aim of establishing links and cooperation between health services, families and the community in order to reduce maternal and infant deaths and to improve the accessibility and quality of health care services.<\/li>\n<li>In its work, Enfants du Monde uses two proven approaches: an active pedagogical and the health approach entitled\u202f\u201cWorking with individuals, families and communities to improve maternal and newborn health\u201d\u202fdeveloped by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/\">World Health Organisation<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Enfants du Monde is committed to\u202fpromoting long-term development\u202fand aims for sustainable independence of local populations.<\/li>\n<li>Enfants du Monde does not have expatriate staff. These fees are set by the service providers and are not determined by Enfants du Monde. Payments made by QR payment slip and direct debit from a bank or post office generate the lowest fees.<\/p>\n                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                                    <div class=\"accordionBlock\">\n                    <div class=\"accordionHead\">Is it possible to do an internship at Enfants du Monde ?<\/div>\n                        <div class=\"accordionContent\">\n                            <p>Yes, under the following conditions :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interns must commit to work for a minimum of 6 months;<\/li>\n<li>Interns must have a bachelor\u2019s degree (or equivalent) and previous work experience;<\/li>\n<li>Internships may be paid or unpaid, depending on the position;<\/li>\n<li>The place of internship is Geneva (Switzerland);<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/edm.ch\/en\/our-ngo\/\">Enfants du Monde<\/a> does not send interns on projects in the field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All internship offers are posted on the <a href=\"https:\/\/edm.ch\/en\/employment\/\">Careers section<\/a>\u202fof our website.<\/p>\n                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                                    <div class=\"accordionBlock\">\n                    <div class=\"accordionHead\">Why project sponsorship, rather than personal or individual sponsorship\u202f?  <\/div>\n                        <div class=\"accordionContent\">\n                            <p>In order to guarantee lasting support and to help not just to one child, but many, and in conformity with\u202fZewo, <a href=\"https:\/\/edm.ch\/en\/your-impact\/\">the Swiss seal of quality<\/a>, Enfants du Monde suggests that donors who wish to give targeted aid can become project sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, as Zewo mentions in its\u202ffact sheet on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edm.ch\/images\/stories\/docs\/zewo-parrainage.pdf\">different types of sponsorship<\/a>\u202f(in French), the relationships formed between individual children and their sponsors through letters and visits can raise false hopes in the child, and cause envy or jealousy between children. Finally, to bring long-term improvement to a situation, the whole community must be affected not just individuals.<\/p>\n                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                                    <div class=\"accordionBlock\">\n                    <div class=\"accordionHead\"> I have no money, but I\u2019d like to help. Direct debit services through the post or the bank (LSV) are safe and easy to use. In order to claim this tax deduction, remember to attach your donation declaration for the relevant fiscal year, which Enfants du Monde will automatically send you in February of the following year.<\/p>\n                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\" faqSec\" style=\"display:\">\n        <div class=\"container\">\n            <h2>Our projects <\/h2>\n            <div class=\"accordionWrap\">\n                                    <div class=\"accordionBlock\">\n                    <div class=\"accordionHead\">In which countries does Enfants du Monde operate?<\/div>\n                        <div class=\"accordionContent\">\n                            <p>Areas of activity were selected by <a href=\"https:\/\/edm.ch\/en\/our-ngo\/\">Enfants du Monde<\/a> firstly on the basis of the human development index and the situation of children in these areas, and secondly based on previous experience in certain countries. Enfants du Monde has had a presence for over 20 years in most of the countries where it currently works leading to an in-depth knowledge of these countries, and this means that its work is even more trustworthy and relevant. Today, our organisation is active in Switzerland and eight other countries: Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Guatemala, Madagascar, Nepal, Niger, Tanzania and Chad.<\/p>\n                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                                    <div class=\"accordionBlock\">\n                    <div class=\"accordionHead\">Can I choose which project to support ?<\/div>\n                        <div class=\"accordionContent\">\n                            <p>You can choose to support the health programme or the education programme through\u202fsponsorships. As a sponsor, each year you will receive a report on the sponsorship programme you have chosen. You can also choose a specific\u202feducation\u202for\u202fhealth\u202fproject to which your donation will be allocated.<\/p>\n                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                                    <div class=\"accordionBlock\">\n                    <div class=\"accordionHead\">How does Enfants du Monde evaluate the effectiveness of its projects ?<\/div>\n                        <div class=\"accordionContent\">\n                            <p>Each project is run on the basis of an agreement between Enfants du Monde and the local partner which lists the following elements: the objectives, the expected results, the practical details of implementation and monitoring, the funding plan and the budget. <a href=\"https:\/\/edm.ch\/en\/your-impact\/\">All projects undergo\u202frigorous monitorin<\/a>g\u202fby the\u202fregional coordination offices\u202fof Enfants du Monde. In addition, the projects are assessed on a six-month basis in order to check the progress and quality of activities and how they comply with the agreement signed by Enfants du Monde and the partner. With Postfinance Payment, the security of the data is guaranteed by a system which is made up of many security barriers as well as complex processes of encryption. Furthermore, Enfants du Monde do not keep credit card numbers. The address information which you provide in order to allow the execution of the payment is never communicated with other companies. The information remains property of Enfants du Monde and is treated confidentially.
